Dear Teachers:

I have always loved Skyping into classrooms, and encouraging students to read and to write stories for themselves.  For years I have offered this service FREE.  However, times have changedand authors also must pay bills.

Beginning in 2018,
My FEE for a “Skype Author Visit” will be
the PURCHASE of
at least 2x of my BOOKS.
Approx $20.00 including postage,
 book discount, and autograph.

MY FUN and EDUCATIONAL PRESENTATION
 STAYS THE SAME

As do the FREE BOOKS (pdf),  plus WRITING HELPERS
and
COLORING SHEETS I always send.

PRESENTATION:
I create presentations that fit each individual class.

OVERVIEW:

I begin by introducing myself as an Aussie Transplant now living in Oregon. I tell a little about growing up Down Under, show cool Aboriginal artifacts, and read from one of my books. Then I go into how books are written, and where my inspiration comes from. I also stress the importance of powerful words, focus, plus strong plots and characters.

Visits to older grades receive a more in-depth chat about the writing process, and I use the FREE Writing Helpers I send as talking points. At the end, a fun Q and A allows for a sharing of ideas and writing know-how. This is often the highlight of my visit.

NOTE: I always send a reminder ahead of time, with
Writing Helpers
, Coloring Sheets, and several FREE
(pdf) Books
for you to read to your class, including my
Fairdinkum Aussie Recipe Book

(food I loved to eat as a kid Down Under)

*My Teacher Study Guide
covers all my books

As the author of 16 Books for children,
I truly believe my small fee is “doable” for most schools.

Do consider, that My BOOKS will continue to
offer fun and educational opportunities
long after my visit is over.

Margot Finke,

Hoping we can enjoy 2018 together-
HOOKING KIDS on READING. . . and Writing.
